Set up a brand new lab, purchased and set up all equipment before generating publishable data within 4 months. Developed standard operating procedures for equipment and trained all new lab members for 4 years.Secured ≈$2 million in funding over 4 years, including $180,000 in individual fellowships to which I applied, and $1.9 million in grants for the lab, for which my PI applied using data I generated.Created first multiphase supported lipid membrane system to overcome substrate friction limitations. Demonstrated accelerated lipid raft domain dynamics due to actomyosin flows, as well as actin network softening due to adhesion to multiphase lipid membrane. Resulted in 4 first-author publications and a ≈$900,000 Packard Fellowship grant for my advisor/lab.Developed first molecular probes to measure spatial heterogeneities in surface glycocalyx brush crowding on live cells. Measured spatial variations in antibody binding affinity to synthetic antigens, finding ∼ 1 kBT differences in affinity in different parts of the mammalian cell surface, resulting in a publication and $1 million NSF grant.Mentored two undergraduate students, each of whom contributed experimental data to a publication.Lab safety officer, 4 years. Graded homework assignments for Chemical Engineering students and provided feedback in a timely fashion.

Synthesized conductive polymer composites with SEBS and carbon black, carbon nanotubes, and silver nanoparticles. Used CAD to design and 3D print circuits using polymer composites. Analyzed polymer surface characteristics using atomic force and scanning electron microscopy.

Worked on optical dynamic nuclear polarization of diamond nitrogen vacancy centers for NMR spectroscopy. Did SEM image analysis, fitted NMR data to curves in MATLAB, worked with cryogenics, and helped build a miniaturized NV center polarizer.

Managed scheduling and oversaw training of new employees. Also performed cashier, inventory, and facilities upkeep duties.
