> Monthly consolidation and review of the regional P&L and Balance Sheet.> Preparation of the Monthly Business Review (consolidation of figures, analysis and commentary, coordination of internal reviews, follow-up of action plans).> In-depth analysis of actual performance in comparison to forecast.> Coordination and consolidation of the multi-year Integrated Business Plan.> Responsible for financial support and review of bids and proposals.> Ownership of regional cash forecast and arranging foreign exchange hedges with Group Treasury.> Ongoing Project Finance support to the existing portfolio of about 40 projects (assisting with undertaking monthly “Forecast Cost at Completion” reviews, forecasting project milestones, resourcing, stock consumption, SAP setup and Risk & Opportunity management).

I have recently taken a new role responsible for setting-up and managing the finances for a change project called "Programme Controls Transformation". This transformation programme underpins the successful delivery of the UK's "Nuclear Deterrent" Dreadnought Submarine programme.In my role as Finance Manager it is my responsibility to deliver the Project Finance deliverables outlined in my previous role (below), however I have been required to setup and develop reports and processes for this new project. Working as part of a small project management team, it is my responsibility to ensure that the Project Manager has sufficient financial information to plan and deliver the mobilisation phase of this major change programme.Financial modelling of future expenditure is required in order to enable BAE Systems to apply for commercial funding and ensure that the project can be delivered on time and budget.

I was responsible for Boats 6 and 7 of the Astute Class Programme for 2 years; the Astute Programme is a contract to deliver 7 Astute Class nuclear submarines to the UK Royal Navy. These boats will take more than 10 years to build and cost about £1.5 billion each. My responsibilities included:> Supporting and challenging Estimate at Complete (EAC) reviews as well as scrutinising monthly cost reports; these are then used to develop Monthly Management Reports (MMRs), Contract Status Reports (CSRs), biannual strategic Integrated Business Plans (IBP), monthly and annual cash forecasts and Forecast Cost at Completion (FCAC).> Finance representative on the bid team to develop annual commercial funding and ad-hoc Change Request submissions to the Ministry of Defence.> Finance representative to a new initiative to outsource secondary steelwork structures in order to maintain the submarine build schedule.> Management experience: recruitment, management and support to the development of an Assistant Accountant.> Representative for the Astute Programme on the Project Account Forum in support of continuous improvement of project accounting systems, reports and processes.> As the build maturity progresses it has been my responsibility to produce and develop CSRs and Sales & Margin Trading Plans (SMTPs). I have also developed and improved models for cash forecasting.

Third annual placement on the Finance Leadership Development Programme (FLDP), BAE Systems' five year finance graduate scheme.I undertook the role of Financial Accountant for BAE Systems Saudi Arabia for 12 months, supporting the long-standing government to government delivery of defence materiel and industrial development to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.As an integral part of the Central Planning and Reporting team my responsibilities include:> Assisting with the consolidation and reporting of the financial performance and budgets for the multi-£bn turnover business unit, BAE Systems Saudi Arabia.> Sole responsibility for determining and agreeing Intercompany Debtors and Creditors with other entities within the group.> Reconciliation and governance of all relevant SAP G/L codes to the reported values in the management and statutory accounts.> Responsibility for maintaining the business unit's multi-£bn Order Book Reconciliation, Fixed Asset Register, Tax-Pack, Journal Register and consolidating the Opportunities and Vulnerabilities for Senior Management review.> Main point of contact for the Office of National Statistics; responsible for the provision of timely and accurate financial and operational performance data.

Second annual placement on the Finance Leadership Development Programme (FLDP), BAE Systems' five year finance graduate scheme.For 12 months, I undertook the role of Project Accountant on the ARTISAN 3D Medium Range Radar programme, supporting the delivery of one of the world's most sophisticated radar systems to the Ministry of Defence.Acting as an integral part of the project team, my responsibilities included:> Producing and analysing monthly cost reports.> Delivering monthly and quarterly management account reports, including Contract Status Reports (CSRs), Opportunities & Vulnerabilities, Supplier Invoicing and a Sales & Margin Trading Plan worth more than £100m.> Maintaining and scrutinising the project Risk Register as well as utilising Earned Value Management and Estimate at Complete cost models to support project appraisals.> Development of an accurate monthly cash-forecasting cost model for material purchases and expenses.> Development of a standardised procurement cost model tool to efficiently and accurately support pricing during bids.> Investment appraisal and support to internal applications for Private Venture funding. Providing support to applications, resource profiling and cost anaylsis for export opportunities.
