Engineer, Instructor
Current• Train and equip astronauts and flight controllers with the skills and knowledge to perform hardware maintenance and repairs on the Space Station. Includes training to analyze problems, develop impacts and solutions, and generate workaround options and reports.• Plan and execute International Space Station simulation exercises in the Space Station Training Facility, implementing hardware and software failure recovery in a high-pressure environment by applying analytic and problem solving skills.• Initiate root cause analysis for failures of International Space Station equipment.• Write flight products such as preventive and corrective procedures for FMEA and hardware maintenance activities. • Initiate quality assurance of various computer and simulation systems for the Space Station.• Utilize drawings, models, sketches, and flow diagrams for mechanical and computer system troubleshooting, recovery, and product development. Understand material properties of hardware and electrical component design to develop recover plans and operational alternatives.• Collaborate with designing engineers to exchange information for procedure planning, training development, and space station crew systems operation.• Develop and implement process improvements for ISS training and operations.
