About Daniel Plewe
Daniel studied Communications, Acoustics and Musicology at the Technical University (TU) Berlin. In the following he contributed to the development of the Wave Field Synthesis System at the TU Berlin and started his carrier as sound engineer and developer within the contemporary music genre. Since then he has performed with numerous ensembles, composers and artists worldwide in renowned festivals. He is specialised in spatial acoustics and implemented interactive live sound electronics for theatre, opera, stage art and exhibitions. Here he gained broad knowledge about sound, music, and image processing. Occasionally, Daniel also conducted the technical lead in project based productions and music festivals. In 2017 Daniel started a PhD project at the department of Acoustical Engineering at Denmarks Technical University. Here he developed a local quiet zone system for open air concerts, for creating a zone of silence close to the audience of an outdoor music event. The conducted research comprised techniques of multi-channel adaptive active noise control, system identification, optimisation, acoustic inverse problems, acoustic modelling, sound field analysis and extrapolation, and spherical array processing.Multiple prototypes were developed and tested in the laboratory, as well as open air concerts, like the Kappa Future techno festival in Torino 2019, anda Friday-Rock concert in Tivoli, Copenhagen's most popular amusement park. Daniel defended the thesis successfully in September 2021 and works since then for the hearing aid manufacturer Oticon.
