Hey, I'm Daniel and I'm currently in my third year studying mechanical engineering at the University of Guelph. During my time here at the university, I have taken the initiative to learn concepts beyond what is taught in the classroom, and approach problems with a creative mindset that applies engineering concepts towards innovative solutions.Upon completing my undergrad, I wish to pursue a graduate degree in aerospace engineering, with the hopes of being able to combine all my experiences to make a positive impact on the world.Since I learn most by doing, I like to take on personal projects in areas where I have little experience. These projects include a notification program using Java that notifies the user when their food is about expire. An interactive application that allows the user to easily insert special characters and symbols with personalized shortcuts. And lastly, my personal favourite, a small RC drone where I gained in-depth knowledge about the fundamentals of electronics and the design process of basic circuit boards.I also like to participate in extracurricular activities that apply what I learn in a fun and practical way. I am currently the brake lead executive for GNCTR Guelph, where I have the opportunity to design a dynamic braking system using SolidWorks and gaining hands-on, manufacturing experience in the workshop. Additionally, I like to participate in Hackathons using extensive programming knowledge to solve complex problems. The most recent competition that I participated in was called Nasa Space Apps and hosted at McMaster University, where my team and I competed against other teams worldwide to solve sustainability issues with comprehensible and interactive solutions.In my own time, I enjoy watching youtube and reading (which is where I learn the most about engineering). I like taking walks to enjoy a nice sunset, and cooking up a nice meal when I have the time.
