• Tasked primarily with reducing a backlog in EU transportation: developed software related to generating labels and manifests for various affiliate shipping companies. Software written in Python, Java, and Velocity.
• Documented the existing manual process to deploy new labels and manifests; required coordination and communication with India team.
• Helped ramp up a team of 10 people working to expand shipping capacity.
• Trained and mentored new team members on the software development process; supervised and evaluated the work of junior team members.
• Automated several processes to reduce development times; e.g. manual test cases that once took 15 minutes to run could now be done in under a minute; greatly increased team productivity.
• Introduced and advocated for proper regression testing - previously nonexistent.

• Tasked with improving the software quality of the Paris research team; prior to my arrival, there was no formal quality process. Software developed mostly in Bash and Python.
• Set up a Jenkins continuous integration system - integrated with the source code repositories (Git and Subversion) and high performance computing system.
• Developed several complex pipeline projects to drive in-house testing; instructed team members on how to write effective tests within the Jenkins framework.
• Created metrics for various projects to give feedback on code quality in real time.
• Performed static code analysis.

• Member of the Software Verification and Validation Laboratory. Working in a collaboration with industry partner SES: a world-leading satellite operator headquartered in Luxembourg.
• Researching test automation and testing methodologies and their application to real world systems.
• Devising techniques to automate the testing of systems having complex data inputs and that generate complex data outputs (e.g., satellite data acquisition systems).
• Created a modelling methodology using UML class diagrams and OCL constraints to represent complex data.
• Created software tools to automatically validate the data inputs and data outputs associated with data processing systems.

Ottawa, Canada

• Member of a team developing business intelligence (BI) software. Tasked primarily with leading software quality assurance activities: creating a test automation platform and implementing regression testing.
• Developed a test harness (using Java and JavaScript) for driving test cases against a Cognos BI (web-based Ajax) application. Automated the testing process to provide for regression testing complete with output reports.
• Created a test recorder to capture user events performed on the Cognos BI software. The recorded scripts (captured in XML) can be replayed as test cases against the software.
• Collaborated on the creation of a test automation process and tool set to automate the integration testing of a multitude of Cognos BI components prior to allowing their promotion into a production ready staging area.
• Managed the build process for the Cognos BI software and assured that the product’s source code was properly stored in source control (Perforce and Rational Team Concert).
• Analyzed test outputs and build reports to find problems or inefficiencies. Made or suggested improvements to the development process.

• Member of a lab conducting experiments on a selection of regression testing methodologies.
• Designed test cases to create the test suite for an industrial software product.
• Automated the test suite to test several versions of the software; applied regression testing techniques to the test suite to reduce and prioritize the number of test cases required to cover the code (C and C++) under.
• Evaluated the cost effectiveness of the test suite reduction and prioritization techniques for a variety of code coverage measures.

• In a collaborative project environment, designed and implemented control software for a variety of Spirent hardware devices requiring expertise and knowledge of a wide range of approaches. Captured use cases and UI.
• Designed and implemented GUI controls using C# to call a C++ API using the.NET studio.
• Designed and implemented an embedded software control program using C and PHP on a PC/104 running a Linux OS. The software allowed for the control of an optical physical layer impairment emulator via either a web.
• Redesigned and overhauled a defective software product written in Microsoft Visual C++; the software interacted with Spirent hardware components and an Agilent spectrum analyzer via the IEEE 488 standard.
• Proposed and then implemented the re-architecture of existing non-scalable software. This cost saving measure eliminated the frequent need to revise, retest, and re-release the product as modular add-ons could now be.
• Improved the performance of a product involving communications between multiple XScale processors via the TCP/IP protocol; a sequential messaging system was replaced with a 1-to-n implementation to achieve tasks in.
