About Daniel Roberts

I am a graduate from Nichols College where I received a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. While at Nichols, I held two internships in HR during my time as a student-athlete. While in school, I also was the President of the Human Resources Club and helped form the club at Nichols. I was a Nichols Connect Mentor where I assisted freshman in the transition from high school to university. After graduating, I have gained experience working in the Human Resources Industry with over five years of total experience.Post university, I held an HR Coordinator role for the Greenwich Hospitality Group, in the luxury hospitality industry and this served as a good administrative and recruiting based position. I then went to work as a full service HR Consultant with HRMC, where I managed HR functions and responsibilities for 10 clients across all industries of the labor market. Job duties included handling employee relations investigations, disciplinaries, payroll, filing, benefit plan negotiation (open enrollment, plan negotiation), KPI analysis, compensation compression analysis, pre-hire and recruiting responsibilities among other items. My next position brought me into the insurance industry in downtown Hartford where I held the role of HR Specialist for Nassau Financial Group (formally Nassau Re/Phoenix). This position's responsibilities included recruiting for senior management positions and exempt based roles, onboarding, pre-hire, new hire orientation, KPI and compensation analysis, HRIS project management, compression and compliance based projects, among other responsibilities. Currently, I am an HR Manager with Opus Inspection Inc., an industry leader in the vehicle emissions business. I am responsible for researching, analyzing, sourcing and implementing new efficiencies and functionalities for new and existing HR practices and processes. I also am responsible to ensure that all practices and processes in HR are in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. I am responsible for managing escalated employment issues and assessing competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal and employee incentive programs. We have recently launched D&I initiatives, a mentor and leadership development program, fleet and safety program and a corporate safety committee. Opus is a global organization with thousands of employees and operates in more than 10 countries.
