Working at Liberty Mutual for the past three years I have gained the foundational skills and knowledge to thrive in enterprise data warehousing. I continue to pursue my professional development by taking industry certifications. I recently completed my AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification and am currently working towards my Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification. In addition to my technical skills, I had built strong relationships with my Data Office counterparts and together we delivered business value to our customers that enabled them to make data driven decisions.One of my most valuable experiences as a data engineer was self teaching myself how to create a Python stored procedure in Snowflake that would validate JSON files from our vendors. I originally tried creating the stored procedure in SQL as well as Java, but ultimately Python was what I needed to acquire my goal of executing both SQL queries and Python code. After a lot of testing, optimizing, and bug fixing, it was good to see it finally sent off to the production environment.I have also had the full experience of finding and remedying a production issue in which duplicate records had been discovered being inserted over the course of a month into a customer facing database. This was remedied over 2 parts: finding and stopping the source of the duplicate record insertion and finding the duplicate records in the tables and removing them. That was a challenging but informational experience I will not forget.On a personal note, over the past twenty years, I've traveled extensively with my family to many countries. A few summers ago, an opportunity arose to travel five countries in a month with a group of students through the People to People Ambassador Program; that was an experience! I love to travel the globe, just this year I traveled to Ireland with my family and did a solo trip to Japan. In my free time you will find me learning new skills and languages as well as traveling around New England trying new activities, foods, and making new friends.
