About Daniel Swanson

I fly Chinook Helicopters as an Instructor Pilot for the US Army. I enlisted in the Army in January 2018, graduated from Warrant Officer School in July 2018, and began flight school for the Army in late 2018. Prior to my time in the Army, I attended the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, Georgia where I studied nursing. After graduating in 2014, I worked as a Registered Nurse in various clinical and non-clinical settings. I enjoy my job as an instructor pilot for the Army and am working on completing all of my ATP requirements. I'm passionate about my family, aviation, and teaching.

As an instructor pilot at Fort Novosel, I teach student pilots how to fly the chinook helicopter in various modes of flight. This includes flying in daytime conditions to nighttime with the assistance of night vision goggles as well as in tactical, low-level altitude flying scenarios.
