Daniel Timmons is the Wild Rivers Program Director and Rio Grande Waterkeeper with WildEarth Guardians, where his work focuses on protecting the imperiled wild rivers of the Southwest, with a primary focus on the iconic Rio Grande.Trained in both law and science, Daniel has brought his broad set of skills to bear in addressing some of the country's most challenging environmental and water resources disputes, from Arizona's hotly-contested Verde River Basin to Oregon's Klamath River Basin. After several years as a climate litigator with WildEarth Guardians, Daniel is now the organization's Wild Rivers Program Director and Rio Grande Waterkeeper, where he advocates for a wild, living Rio Grande. Daniel earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Lewis & Clark Law School, where he was Associate Editor of Environmental Law, a finalist at the Pace National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition, and a member of the Cornelius Honor Society. He received his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Columbia University, and his Master's of Science with Distinction in Environmental Sciences and Policy from Northern Arizona University. He is licensed to practice law in New Mexico and Oregon.
