About Daniel Verret
After completing a master degree in mathematics (M. Sc) and software development, I started my career conducting operational research for the department of national defense in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Back in Quebec, I took the lead of a small software development team working on a large-scale simulation platform for a company that I have turned into a customer for the following 12 years. I did this in 2005 by creating my first start-up, ForwardSim, with the vision to apply simulation technics to support decision making leveraging data and analytics. Working mainly with the defense industry ForwardSim also developed a crowd simulation platform to support large-scale event planning.While continuing to support ForwardSim operations, I have accepted a position in Europe to assist NATO with defense requirement planning from 2005 to 2007. In 2015, I have joined the Optel Group to support an exponential growth related to a government enforced drugs serialization program worldwide. As a program manager, I have built customer relationship for the company and led a team of project managers, to deliver customer value. Also, at Optel, I took onto the middleware deployment director position with the responsibility to lead the team in charge of the integration of Optel's serialization solution into the customer environment.In 2019, I have joined EXFO and took the lead of the development and deployment of a complete ecosystem bringing connectivity to EXFO's fiber optic test equipment augmented with cloud services. Being responsible for the ecosystem product management team, I'm responsible for the monetization strategy, support prioritization, engage with customers, communicate with stakeholders, align sales & marketing activities and coordinate with many other groups within and outside of EXFO to support this strategic transformation initiative.
