WorldTeach is an independently incorporated, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. WorldTeach partners with governments and other organizations in developing countries, enabling its volunteers to meet local needs and work in rural, under-funded schools in order to help less privileged children learn the valuable skill of speaking English.As Field Director for WorldTeach Thailand, I work alongside the Thai Ministry of Education to meet explicit program goals while guiding the efforts of a group of English teachers to ensure a quality educational experience for students in rural, Northeastern, Thailand. My other responsibilities include:• Sustaining program growth by recruiting new volunteer instructors and placement schools• Providing support to WorldTeach Thailand’s volunteers, including assisting with health and placement issues, cultural adjustment, and any site problems• Leading regular meetings to reinforce best teaching practices, idea sharing, and teamwork• Proactively networking and establishing effective working relationships within the home office and in-country district officials• Ensuring volunteers receive monthly stipends, have adequate living conditions, working relationships with their schools, and general well-being• Working with the Thai Department of Education to achieve national educational objectives and explicit program goals

Nakhon Phanom, Thailand

I effectively teach skills-based English language to 230 students at Ramrach Secondary School in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand. My responsibilities include:• Gaining first-hand experience of the education system of rural, northeastern Thailand• Building relationships with multiple stakeholders, school directors, provincial administrators, and teachers • Organizing and participating in weekend English Camps at schools throughout the Nakhon Phanom province• Organizing Ramrach Secondary School’s first after-school English program for 35 interested students

As an energetic instructor, I coach tennis skills and sportsmanship to a variety of different ages and personalities during the summer months. I am responsible for creating personal, individual-specific training drills for the benefit of my students.
