CurrentInnovation: Africa operates as a renewable energy construction management organisation which completes approximately 240 water and renewable energy projects across Africa each year. The role of Head of Legal includes:• Serving as a key member of the C-suite, actively participating in high-level strategy and organizational management decisions to drive the company's mission and growth across multiple countries.• Managing all legal elements of the construction of over 500 water and renewable energy projects across Africa, while also overseeing the legal aspects of the operations and maintenance of over 1200 projects across the continent.• Managing the legalities, corporate governance and compliance in each country of operation (Israel, New York, South Africa, Cameroon, Malawi, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Rwanda).• Providing practical, business-oriented legal advice, counsel, and recommendations to various stakeholders on various legal and business issues.• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating all commercial contracts.• Creating, maintaining and implementing standard templates, business processes, and internal policies.• Managing & commencing litigation and dispute resolution procedures. This includes appearing before a variety of local courts & tribunals.• Conducting negotiations at the highest level of government, including engaging with heads of states and ministers.• Spearheading Innovation: Africa's carbon credit and ESG program.
