While everyone else saddled up in college, I boarded a flight to South Africa.Twenty years and two dozen countries later, I’ve cut out a niche lane that’s pulled my pen from zealous entrepreneurialism to growing non-profit to big-city advertising to ghostwriting glory. Every experience etched itself into my expanding skill set, but a few inherited inclinations made me a natural no matter the role — distillation, initiation and communication. They’re the holy trinity I’m bringing into what’s next — to manage and market in-house projects and meaningful events for a brand wanting not just to connect, but bond online and IRL with their audience.
Listed skills include Graphic Design, Social Media Marketing, Sales Management, Product Development, and 20 others.

TASK:To focus words around variances in tone, style and subject so a brand’s story cracks across mediums and invites their target audience in.CHALLENGE:In a culture where everybody is talking with ever-increasing volume, communication needs to be spliced with relevant insight and engaging storytelling so an audience stays tuned into a brand’s frequency.ACTION:Whether in short form - taglines, coffee stamps, greeting cards - or long form - articles, video scripts, brand stories, websites, a 50,000 word memoir - I’ve crafted them all with a brand’s core message at the forefront.ACCOMPLISHMENT:Penning powerful copy for a growing list of amazing photographers, magazines, musicians, athletes, nutritionists, non-profits, designers, real estate agents, painters, coaches, hospitals, construction companies, HGTV stars, motorcycle clubs, clothing brands, movement gurus, herbalists, skincare empires and conscious creative agencies.BRAND HIGHLIGHTS: Twitter Canada, Canon, Abeego, Somerset Moss, Saltyface, Tiffany Pratt, Alyssa Yuhas, workwomb, Connor Malbeuf, Made to Thrive.
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
TASK:To pen engaging ads, captions and websites that get eyes and guarantee buys.CHALLENGE:Personally, I’d only ever written for my own brand, so spreading the ink into the diverse territory of cannabis, grocery, mattresses, mortgages, bread and underwear was a tall order I had to prove I could fill. Professionally, how does a brand break the sound barrier of common noise and not only find their fans, but make new ones? That's the inherent challenge every piece of copy has in front of it.ACTION:While in our bullpen of graphic designers, photographers, art directors, data analysts and project managers, I paired attention-nabbing, eye-pulling, conversation-starting content with communication that kept their eyes locked in and their ears listening.ACCOMPLISHMENT:Modernizing legacy brand, Joe Boxer, with seasonal campaigns and events that drove site visits up 230% and sales 154%, launching Valens’ successful “It’s Personal” brand campaign to parallel cannabis legalization in Canada, and crafting an animated series for Metro's website, socials, flyers and transport trucks that lives on to this day.BRAND HIGHLIGHTS: Joe Boxer, Serta, Metro, Monster Mortgage, Stonemill, Valens.
Toronto, Ontario
TASK:To pioneer a witty, honest and emotive brand in the highly-competitive paper industry.CHALLENGE:With zero background in business and zilch in design, I was a classic underdog. I acted anyway, running into a race against established big hitters with one goal: to mark out my own territory in an overcrowded market by saying something nobody else was saying. ACTION:Through trial and error, I taught myself the ropes of accounting, PR, client management, copywriting, social media, you name it, all while crafting my brand voice, tone and style through the tight medium of greeting cards.ACCOMPLISHMENT:I muscled Dani Press into nearly 100 stockists worldwide, a successful showcase in New York City, a debut in Paris, features by major media, a 260% rise in profits in my best year, shelf space in Chapters stores across Canada, and sold over 50,000 cards in 8 years. But most importantly? 10% of profits were given to These Numbers Have Faces, a nonprofit investing in African leaders through college scholarships.
Toronto, Ontario
TASK:To stand at the helm of a ship of creatives - illustrators, photographers, designers, art directors, stylists - delegating a constant calendar of weekly, monthly and yearly events from one hand while leading with clear vision and strong communication from the other.CHALLENGE:I’d never been in an official leadership role before, so with a team of only five or so, a sizeable stack of bleeding projects and leadership above me moving at a quickening pace towards bigger things, I was on a steep learning curve from minute one. ACTION:I hit the ground running by locking the current roster into a clearer team structure and project schedule while finding and inviting skilled volunteers in with vision and enthusiasm. As we grew, not only did the scope and scale of our projects widen, but we were increasingly fuelled by the intangibles: the community and camaraderie of each other and the incredible external influence of our projects. ACCOMPLISHMENT:Our team grew from 5 to 30+ in under a year while collectively grabbing hold of the skills to stretch big ideas over varied media through a gala, album launch, national conference, retreat and community events.
