Following the merger of Credit Suisse and UBS, I was appointed CTO of Workplace at UBS, a role offered by the Group CTO with an additional initial responsibility to lead the CS-UBS integration within this space. My remit includes defining the strategy and architecture for UBS's people-centric workplace experiences across End User, HR, and Corporate Services domains.In this capacity, my focus has been on designing scalable integration patterns and automated processes to facilitate the merger of two global banks with over 10,000 applications. This has involved aligning and harmonising key services, such as connectivity and authentication, while overseeing the complex task of unifying governance and inventory under two distinct security and risk control frameworks.This role is foundational to creating a seamless, integrated workplace environment that supports UBS’s global operations and enhances the overall employee experience.

After promotion to Director I was appointed Head of Solution Architecture (End User) to lead the strategy for the Credit Suisse workplace and provide cross domain alignment and governance for all solution design. I also fulfiled the role of Head of Real Time Communications Engineering (team of 30 engineers/architects) for an interim period, and was primariliy responsible for all solution design and delivery during a period of significant change.During this time I established the End User Design Authority that took ownership of all architecture topics and design decsions, providing peer review, application of relevant standards and generally lifting the quality and consistency of all technology deliverables in the domain. The value was ultimately recognised when the position of Chief Architect was created for me and I was able to focus solely on this function. I also went on to support my counterparts in Security and Hosting to establish DAs based on my original model.My team delivered the design and architecture of the M365 suite and were instrumental in the adoption and migration, in other initiatives we also achieved a number of firsts: First to deliver a cloud solution approved for Swiss Client Identifying Data, and first to deliver a containerised application in cloud (Azure Kubernetes)
