Like a lot of people, I got my start working in a church. In college I began working in my university theater and was quickly working for production companies mixing FOH and monitors, system teching, and advancing shows. As digital consoles, audio and video over IP, and network based control systems became more widespread in the industry, my career landed me as a network administrator with a specialty in the unique applications of networks in AVL systems. In a world of IT folks who don't *really* understand live production, and AVL folks who don't *really* understand IT, I live in both worlds and speak both languages fluently.Currently I spend most of my time in the live production world:- Mixing FOH, broadcast, and monitors for live events (A1, A2).- Training and consulting at all skill levels for churches, installers/integrators, and production companies.- Audio and video system design, installation, and optimization.- AVL network infrastructure design, consultation, and emergency support.Regularly working with:Production Navigators - Los Angeles, CA. In my role on the network infrastructure team at Church of the Resurrection, my primary responsibilities include design, implementation, and maintenance of LAN and WAN networks and related systems across the organization. The day to day of this position looks different every day. Sometimes, it's organizing and re-wiring a network rack, or replacing hard drives on a server, or troubleshooting a complex firewall issue, or maintaining and optimizing network monitoring systems, but usually I end up having to squeeze those in between various large projects.Some key projects I've been involved in:Designing and implementing networks for AVL control, video and audio over IP (Dante, NDI, .etc), and streaming systems for 10+ venues ranging from a capacity of 100 to 3500, and various classrooms and conferencing rooms.Design, implementation, and coordination of IT systems for two new location launches in Overland Park and Brookside.Selection, design, configuration, and implementation of new firewalls and core routing at all locations.Various projects of migrating IT systems to Azure.Migration of online streaming systems during COVID 19 shutdown in 2020 to handle a much higher number of online viewers with a significant increase in reliability and decrease in problems and support requests.Design and implementation of network infrastructure for a centralized storage server for on site and remote video editing, and remote off site backup systems.

Competed in NASA Centennial Challenges - Beam Power Climber Competition. Helped design and build laser powered robot to vertically climb a 1 kilometer steel cable using no on board power.
