One of my favourite quotes is from Zig Ziglar, who said “If you help enough people get what they want, then you will have more than enough for what you want.” Call it Karma, the Golden Rule, What Goes Around Comes Around, You Reap What You Sow…whatever you prefer, there it is. Every decision I make professionally and personally is guided by Zig’s quote. I am fluent in French, so for my Francophones: Je me concentre d'abord sur mes clients et mon succès suivra naturellement!I have extensive sales experience, as well as something many sales executives don’t have…operations, P&L, and management experience. As a result, I have a unique “top view” perspective that really helps me relate to C-suite executives. I also have an open, inclusive communication style that allows me to relate instantly with virtually anyone. On a personal note: I am a hockey nut. I play three times per week, solidifying my reputation for having “million dollar legs and ten cent hands.” Beyond the camaraderie, hockey has served as a tremendous networking tool as I have met so many fascinating and accomplished professionals from all walks of life. Oh yeah, I taught myself to play the guitar at age 30. I’m not thinking of trading in my day job to play with a band, but I do enjoy strumming around a campfire.

Principal OwnerProsolver Jun 2023 - PresentBritish Columbia, CanadaProsolver brings simple and dynamic solutions to complex challenges. I've created this company to sell products and services that inspire me every single day. I'm guided by simple and immutable core values and a deep desire to be of service to my neighbours both near and far. That means that what Prosolver accomplishes must positively impact people's lives and/or the environment as quickly as possible, and for as long as possible. This is the common thread between the lines I represent, even though on the surface, they may appear to be disjointed. -
Vice President - Business DevelopmentInfrastruct Products And Services Dec 2018 - Mar 2023British Columbia, CanadaIn this role, I was focused on growing our multiple business lines - civil, mechanical and construction services. I served our hard working clients, my fantastic colleagues and the quality manufacturers we represented by aligning all parties through strategy and action. Building upon the success in Western Canada, we expanded and drove eastward, through disciplined and insightful growth strategies. In this role I also had the incredible opportunity to seek out products and emerging technologies that brought economic value for our clients, profitable returns for our manufacturers and - a key personal passion - provide solutions which are significantly more sustainable and environmentally-friendly. -
Business Development Manager - Civil/EngineeringInfrastruct Products And Services Aug 2017 - Dec 2018British Columbia, CanadaI was charged with actively growing sales primarily within Martech's (infraStruct's) Civil and Engineered Products Division and acted in a supporting role to further growth within Martech's Mechanical Division in BC.Typically this included carrying out sales and education meetings with all stakeholders working and associated with municipal infrastructure. infraStruct's (formerly known as Martech) Civil Division niche was to bring products that will better serve municipalities by connecting manufacturers high value products to end users. The end results are solutions that are more economically viable, safer and more sustainable then traditional technologies.I help connect and "translate" the needs and realities between people tasked to create technical engineered solutions and installations and people tasked with ensuring fair and economically sound financial practices while simultaneously ensuring these solutions are a better choice for the environment. -
Regional Sales Manager - Gta Water Treatment GroupMagnus Chemicals Ltd. Jan 2016 - Jun 2017Pickering, OnMagnus Chemicals Ltd was established in Montreal in 1946 as a water treatmentcompany for boilers. I was responsible for the P&L and a staff of 8 in of the province of Ontario. During my time with Magnus, I instituted sales opportunity tracking practices, created and implemented a bonus plan for sales leads provided by technicians which resulted in an immediate substantial increase in lateral sales within the client account base, implemented systematic account renewal best practices which resulted in bringing to date a very significant backlog of contracts requiring renewal. -
Business Development Manager - Sustainable SolutionsHamilton Kent Jan 2014 - Dec 2015Toronto, OnFollowing my success with selling Lifespan in a limited capacity in my previous role, I became solely responsible for selling the Lifespan System in Canada and the US. Focusing on identifying and recruiting like-minded independent distributors and coaching their respective sales teams to sell and work with municipalities in getting Lifespan specified and installed in various I&I reduction projects. -- Lifespan is the world's first rubber manhole frame and when working in conjunction with a specially designed cast-iron or composite lid, protects a sanitary system from taking on I&I. It is tested and guaranteed to resist up 15 psi of pressure against I&I – specifically inflow seen typically in traditional systems through the lid (circumference and of course the pick holes!) and infiltration between the frame and concrete substructure. Furthermore, it resists up to 5 psi of surcharge pressure which is really useful against unwanted sewer odors in the environment and more importantly prevents raw sewage from seeping into the street or environmentally sensitive areas such as a trunk line that runs along a waterway. The impact this product can have to reduce municipalities' costs to unnecessarily convey and treat "clean water" and by extension reduce the greenhouse gases and their carbon footprint was very satisfying for me personally. -
Territory Manager - Eastern CanadaHamilton Kent Jan 2010 - Jan 2014Toronto, OnHamilton Kent is a multinational manufacturer and distributor of watertight, resilient rubber sealing systems and components used primarily in infrastructure pipe systems. As a Territory Manager, my role is to collaborate with corporate management to develop sales and marketing plans for all of the company’s products for the precast concrete, PVC, and HDPE pipe industries. --Hamilton Kent has launched a brand new, revolutionary product called “Lifespan” – a rubber manhole cover system that eliminates inflow and infiltration through the top of manhole systems. In addition to my extensive client base, I’ve happily taken on doing “missionary work” to get the Lifespan unit specified with municipalities and regions. I have been able to sell the first units in Quebec and New Brunswick where the Lifespan is quickly gaining traction. This represents a potentially significant new channel of business for Hamilton Kent.--Clients in Quebec were still using an older design of gaskets that are proprietary to each manufacturer. This required us to keep individual inventories, which is a logistical nightmare and inherently costly. My challenge was to convince the manufacturers in Quebec to use a newer, more common design that is interchangeable – one that is being used by the rest of North America. I was able to get one manufacturer to make the jump and then the others followed – primarily by showing them the benefits they would gain from the new gasket.--I was able to reduce the number of late orders 50% by working with production and planning to refocus the manufacturing process to be more sales oriented; I also aided the planning team in building inventories in the off-season to streamline processes during the busy season. -
Branch ManagerKaverit Cranes Jan 2008 - Mar 2009Sudbury, OnNow operating as Konecranes, the company is the Canadian market leader in crane manufacturing and service. I was promoted to branch manager due to tremendous sales success, experience in managing P&L, and the superior relationships I had developed with clients. In this role, I managed every aspect of branch activities including sales, operations, performance reviews, government compliance, and supervising staff and technicians. --I was able to reduce delinquent A/R accounts by 90% by collaborating with the A/R team to work with customers in any way necessary to reduce their DSO.--By collaborating with technicians and the service account manager to reorganize the warehouse, we were able to significantly improve both the functionality and the safety for everyone.--In addition to my leadership roles, I also generated approximately 50% of all branch sales including retrofit projects, large hoist sales, and large service accounts. --We achieved 100% accident/injury free status for 2008, largely due to ongoing safety talks where we reviewed projects, installations, and inspections.

Sales Service RepresentativeKaverit Cranes Mar 2006 - Dec 2007Sudbury, OnMy focus in this role was on selling inspection services, light crane systems, and upgrade projects. I assisted with contract renewals by working with the branch manager and service supervisor to renew the inspection contracts of existing and previous customers. --When a large pulp and paper mill decided to transition from an in-house, unionized work force to a contracted maintenance service for all of their lifting devices, their initial plan was to sub-contract to a local “non-specialized” firm with minor support from a competitor of our company that was located three hours closer to the client. By meeting with the mill’s decision-making team to understand their motivation and their expectations, I realized that they were under tremendous pressure from community leaders to support the local economy. I devised a plan that allowed them to satisfy the political pressure and shield themselves from any liability that could arise from improperly maintained and inspected equipment. --I was able to exceed my first year quota by nearly 200% by renegotiating the company’s three largest contracts, which improved gross margin returns. I also implemented an annual inspection program for lifting beams, which generated additional revenue.
