ALIC is a highly awarded independent mortgage broking firm based in Melbourne. I worked in all areas of the ALIC business and ended up becoming a top performing broker. In my first 12 months I achieved over $55m in completed settlements. More importantly I loved the work and nearly every client was very pleased with their outcome/experience. I then decided to move on from ALIC and start up my own practice.

We created MELT... a two-unit hospitality concept in Melbourne, and Australia's first 'build-your-own' pizzeria. Customers selected their own ingredients and then their pizzas cooked in two minutes using a 400 degree wood-fired oven. It was a great concept but we couldn't get it to work. We ended up selling both stores and moving on.

Together with Catch Of The Day, Elise and I built Mumgo.com.au from a two person start up into 250,000+ subscribers and one of Australia's largest online children's retailers - which it still is today. We sold our remaining shares to Catch in April 2013, and then the business was acquired as part of the Wesfarmers buyout ($230m acquisition of all Catch assets announced June 2019).

I was offered the full time role after completing the summer internship program the year prior. Advisory roles included sell-side M&A, equity financings and a government privatisation. Responsibilities included valuation analysis, merger and LBO modeling, strategic reviews and client presentations.
