I am an Intellectual Property and Technology attorney and have experience in both firm and corporate situations. My practice is focused on patent (utility and design) and trademark preparation and prosecution, patent portfolio development, legal opinions and client counseling.Patent Portfolio Development: I enjoy collaborating with inventors, technical management and corporate leadership. As a former primary patent examiner I have examined hundreds of patent applications, I am very familiar with the Patent Office process. As a patent practitioner, I have successfully prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications to obtain hundreds of quality patents for my clientele. Intellectual Property Counseling: I have provided scores of product clearance and right to use opinions, patent design-around studies, non-infringement and patent invalidity opinions, patent enforcement opinions (Rule 11) and patent due diligence opinions.Technical Background: I have a demonstrated ability to handle a wide variety of technologies because of his technical qualifications and experience. He has undergraduate and graduate level electrical engineering degrees. With respect to my electrical engineering experience, I designed various digital timing circuits for a forward looking infrared system. Later, I designed several inter-unit communications circuits for a mobile microwave landing system used by the U.S. military to deploy aircraft to forward landing zones. For that same aircraft landing system, I designed a digital interface for a phased array antenna. After my engineering career, I worked for a telecommunications company as an engineering manager responsible for designing and managing wireline and fiber optic plant for a public switch telecommunications network.
