About Daniel Marcin
I am an economist with experience in a variety of applied microeconomics fields. I currently work in analysis at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. I first joined HUD in 2018 in the Office of Policy Development and Research, and I moved to Ginnie Mae in 2020. My doctoral dissertation covered a unique tax publicity provision of the United States income tax code in the 1920s. I have worked in research and litigation support at the University of Chicago Law School. I also recently worked as an economist at Welch Consulting, a small labor and employment expert group. I have experience in taxation, economic history, housing, law and economics, and labor. I have a teaching background mostly in antitrust and regulation, with other teaching work in macroeconomics and finance, microeconomics, economic history, and philosophy and economics. I have a strong interest in energy and environmental economics. I try to stay up to date on programming techniques and I maintain a YouTube channel showing some techniques in Python, Excel, and Stata that could be useful to economists.
