I have been on active duty for 13 years in the Navy as an IT. I spent four years in Virginia Beach working at NCDOC naval cyber command where I installed fiber lines and set up server racks and switches. While working there I also did administrative work setting up workstations and accounts for the entire command. My next assignment was in Sicily at NCTS where I worked at Niscemi on the LF Communications tower. My job was to keep maintenance on the PA systems and to make sure the LF was mission-ready at all times in addition, I also did administrative work setting up workstations and accounts for new sailors coming in. For the last five years, I have been attached to Seal Team Three as a communicator setting up full JOCs and TOCs in any location and obtaining services through nodes and satellite communication. Attended communication training for green gear radios setting up HF, UHF, SHF, and SATCOM Line of site communication for the operators while they are out on operations. I have SEC + and am just graduated from The University of Charleston with my Associate in Cybersecurity. I will continue until I obtain my bachelor’s in cybersecurity while stationed at my next command. I recently have been working with Trellis ware gear and Silvus radios to pull feed through ISR feeds from drones. I would like to work further with drones and the capabilities they can obtain. I would like to if offered try and shadow or work part-time while I am in the service to build my experience before getting out and crossing over.
