Day to day (at Carrington, Manchester United’s training ground) and match day translations for non English speaking players in Manchester United Men’s and Women’s team.Language lessons for players and staff

This matchday role includes being the point of contact for home and away playing staff, helping them settle in, carrying out tasks including sorting out players’ tickets, showing directors/VIPS/families to their seats/translating for home/away staff (Spanish and Portuguese).

In this position I educate guests from around the world all about the history of Manchester United, and show large groups around the stadium (normally of around 50). The position has taught me the invaluable skill of speaking in front of large groups whilst maintaining close control to ensure their safety in a busy, working stadium.

For this role I am Manchester United’s representative for UEFA fixtures played at Old Trafford for doping. Greeting the doping team, showing them to the doping control centre and to their seats. After the game, I support them in informing and escorting the players selected for doping until all tests/documentation have been completed

I spent the third year of my undergraduate degree in Spain, representing the British Council. The British Council provided work two Spanish primary schools in Zamora, allowing me to gain experience teaching English to Spanish children. I would teach them English and explain in Spanish.

My role involved creating new concoctions of drinks as well as serving them to customers. Working in a fast-paced environment taught me many things such as working well under pressure and multitasking. I learnt to put the customer first, second and third. It provided as an excellent experience in terms of conversing with a wide variety of customers of all ages and backgrounds.
