As Confined Space Rescue and Hazardous Material Technicians, we ensure the safety and rescue services of workers conducting mitigation and abatement projects involving chemicals.

In Camden City, Fire Department initiated a career as a firefighter and then retired as a Captain. The knowledge, skills, and abilities gained while on the job were in maritime, structural, and other land-based firefighting operations. Inspections and pre-incident evaluations are administered to prevent and mitigate future emergencies at properties. Fifteen years out of twenty assigned to the department’s special operations section. My expertise is in technical rescues such as rope, trench, structural collapse, and auto extrication. This array of disciplines further includes hazardous materials technician duties. There were other duty assignments experienced within the agency. Placement into the training office for months at a time to train fellow personnel knew strategy and tactics. The elicitation of people in the community to become a firefighter when assigned to the recruiting office.

A contributing author for the Pennwell drafting a half dozen articles in the Fire Engineering Magazine.

Initiated tenure with the Camden County Fire Academy later turned Camden County College as a Instructor. Taught classes in fire suppression, Rapid Intervention, and Rescue. Became a Fire Fighter 2 Coordinator leading and managing instructors and students.

Presented topics on fire suppression and instructed hands on train at the Fire Department Instructors Conference International.

An Instructor delivering information on firefighting, rescue, and safety at remote sites. Subjects include; Firefighting Strategy/Tactics, Safety/Survival, Rapid Intervention, and Fire Extinguisher training for industry. Structural Collapse, Rope, Confine Space, Trench, and Vehicle rescue seminars.

During my tenure became a Rescue Technician with New Jersey Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue. A technician in structural collapse, confined space, trench, and swift water. Additionally, trained to handle hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction on an operational level.

A Soldier attached to two reserve units in possession of two Military Occupation Specialties for six years, including a deployment in support of Operation Joint Endeavor in Bosnia Herzegovina as a Fire Crash and Rescue Specialist and a Medical Specialist (Medic). Education and training, Firefighting school at McConnell Air Force Base KS and Medical Specialist School at Fort Sam Houston TX. My tenure included providing medical care to troops, aircraft fire rescue, wildland operations, and structural firefighting.
