Analysis of clinical data using in-house R tools, delivering on-time quality reports.

Subcontract work for Flatiron Health included creating and maintaining R packages for the clinical research team. Additionally I prepared prospective clinical research reports and other ad hoc reports.

[subcontracted from Navitas Life Sciences]Working at Flatiron Health, I was a core member of the R Enablement team, contributing to over twenty R package software releases in my time there. I also worked with the Clinical Research Business Unit (CRBU) to prepare numerous prospective research reports. Finally, I led the creation and initial release of a new R package for use in report preparation for the CRBU team. Other responsibilities included leading the database onboarding for new QS employees, ad hoc quantitative reports, bug fixes and code reviews.

As a senior clinical data analyst, I worked with large sets of patient health data to identify cohorts for research projects based on Real World Evidence (RWE). I worked independently and within small teams, querying SQL and Amazon AWS Redshift databases to assemble patient cohorts according to specific criteria. I wrote libraries of functions R and Python, conducted statistical analysis of sensitive health data, and delivered reports in Rmarkdown and Jupyter notebooks

Customized the Syapse web application according to clients' needs, including creating custom workflows and prototype features, using Python, javascript widgets and bash command line scripts. I also created and supported virtual machines running our customized webservers through vagrant.

BioCompare is an online database of biological products. I work with Python, PostgreSQL, and MS-SQL to process millions of products from various sources to conform to our database standards. We use a combination of regular expressions and natural language processing to create statistical classifiers for smarter categorization of products and their attributes. My work is split between Mac OS-X and Linux development.

Primary research projects under Dr. York Marahrens involved investigation of the role repetitive sequence elements play in gene expression and gene silencing. Statistical and clustering analyses were done using R, Perl, MySQL and random forest algorithms. Genome annotations were obtained from a variety of public databases including the UCSC Genome Browser.
