CurrentInitially hired to coach and develop an agile team comprised of engineers from across multiple acquisitions, Danny now leads the Software Engineering, Quality, and DevOps practices across Ascensus Corporate Development and FuturePlan - one of the nation’s largest retirement third-party administrators. As an engineering-minded leader, Danny coaches and supports the teams developing FuturePlan’s event driven microservice architecture and Corporate Development’s CRM and RPA focused environments. • Direct leader of a global team of 36 Ascensus associates, near-shore contractors, and off-shore contractors spanning software engineering, DevOps, and Quality Engineering.• Transformed the Software Engineering practice to enable sharing and collaboration across teams, ultimately leading to a practice aligned organization, and expansion of responsibilities to include DevOps and Quality Practices.• Created a transparent, open and inclusive environment – leading to over 95% voluntary retention. • Increased software quality by taking on leadership of the Quality practice, identifying shortfalls in testing practices, – resulting in a broader definition of quality, and a new approach to end to end testing• Developed a large-scale reorganization of FuturePlan scrum teams that ensured team delivery and roadmap alignment, provided increased opportunities for associate growth, and was embraced by individual contributors. • Facilitated Software Engineering, DevOps, and Quality Practice Meetings to ensure knowledge sharing, networking, and implementation of best practices across as many as 9 Scrum Teams• Introduced GitHub Co-Pilot and Co-Pilot Chat and potential use cases to the software engineering team as part of Ascensus’s first application of generative AI.• Coached Health and Benefits Engineering Associates through the divestiture process.• Represented FuturePlan and Health in Ascensus’s partnership with Girls Who Code, advocating for increased associate engagement.
