I am focused on knowing what issues affect our customers in the field and solving them. To do this, my team has built an analytics platform using SQL and Python to help turn petabytes of telemetry into usable guidance. Our focus is on hardware, reliability, and maintenance tracking. We develop automated fixes, use data to drive closed loop learning, and use machine learning to better diagnose customer problems. If we can identify a potential issue and issue proactive maintenance before our users even notice, that's our platform in action. In a lot of organizations, customer service takes a very reactionary role, answering phone calls or emails when they get sent in, but in many cases, that is already too late. We strive to improve our user experience by relating product operation to the needs of our users. That can only be accomplished by:* Having a visceral understanding of the jobs to be done in the field and using machine learning to match customer concerns to a resolution* Having an in-depth knowledge of our own product and user experience so that we can automate solutions* Creating performance analytics systems that can scale to millions of devices, tracking behavior and defects by cohort, age, usage, etc.
