I have over three decades of progressive municipal experience which includes serving as a department head, or higher, for more than 10 years. My current position is Chief of Staff, which in our strong-mayor form of government is analogous to that of an Assistant City Manager in council-manager systems. As Chief of Staff, I manage 22 separate departments and lead 1,000 full-time employees in a city with a population of 152,000. I also oversee an annual operating budget of approximately $285M, which encompasses a general fund budget of $161M, and our $585M CIP. My educational qualifications include a B.S. in accounting as well as a M.A., M.S., and a M.B.A. degree. Also completed the Certified Public Manager program for the State of Texas, as well as Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executives in State and Local Government program.
