Dan advises clients on proactive data security practices, data breach incident response, and data privacy and security regulatory compliance, including legislation such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and leads the negotiation and drafting of complex technology transactions for both vendors and customers,. He leads responses to security incidents and interacts with federal and state agencies and forensic service providers, oversees investigations, and designs post-incident response notification and remediation plans.In addition to his data privacy and security compliance work,, Dan provides compliance support on applicable security laws, PCI-DSS, and security audit standards such as the NIST and ISO. He also facilitates in-depth security incident simulations and develops and implements comprehensive third party privacy and security risk management (TPRM) programs for clients.Dan also conducts artificial intelligence risk assessments for clients, and helps companies establish AI ethics, governance, and compliance programs, including with respect to transparency, documentation, policies, and training.
