Current(The National Hockey League is a professional ice hockey league composed of 30 member clubs. The NHL is widely considered to be the premier professional ice hockey league in the world, and one of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada.)Leading a department focused on driving the transition from analog to digital content management for the NHL’s media archive, consisting of approximately 250,000 hours of audio/video content and over 3 million images.•Strategizing with various stakeholders to document detailed requirements for DAM system including user interfaces, permissions, and search/retrieval functionality•Negotiating contracts and building relationships with vendors to expedite company initiatives•Providing financial analysis and budgeting for multi-million dollar projects•Overseeing ingest and archiving functions for deliverables from a wide variety of sources•Managing project to digitize 100,000 video assets within aggressive 5-month time frame• Creating policies and procedures related to the creation of new material, acting as an authority on storage of new content• Developing archiving workflows and metadata standards for new and legacy media assets• Working in conjunction with IT department to document detailed requirements for DAM system including user interfaces, permissions, and search/retrieval functionality• Conducting a broad inventory of digital and analog assets owned by NHL and partners• Applying best practices for digital asset management to uniquely fit our business needs and steer the organization in the right direction for success in deployment of new systems to staff•Hiring, developing and motivating large staff to ensure project milestones were consistently met on-time and on-budget
