I'm a can-do-anything IT professional in the greater Los Angeles area with a towering pile of experiences behind me. I specialize in platform engineering (or DevOps, or SRE, whatever you want to call it) - specifically cloud infrastructure and developer tooling (y'know... like AWS and CI/CD).I've been goofing off with computers since I was a kid. My first language is English, my second is probably Python. I've broken and fixed Arch, Ubuntu, and CentOS machines more times than I care to admit, set up a home laboratory and cloud to keep abreast of new tech developments (have you ever actually tested how fast Varnish caches stuff, even on a local network? It's nuts), and code April Fool's joke-texting mechanisms. Bare-metal and linux are obviously dear to my heart, but I reckon I can AW a good S from time to time if I must.I've been a teacher, an IT guy, a performer, a lab rat, and a server jockey. I work wood, I fence, I program for fun, and keep up with internet culture. I've had a bunch of different jobs and learned a ton of different things, and I have a broad worldview because of it. I've had chances to see things from a million different angles, and I can tell you that finding the bright, clear line between 'problem'​ and 'solution'​ is merely a matter of adopting the oblique approach.Oh, also, I will talk your ear off about what I think DevOps actually means!
