As an assigned client engineer, I work to build strong, trusting relationships with our customers. I am tasked with the life-cycle ownership of the customer's computing environment and work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to provide a point of escalation and ownership for more challenging problems. The role is balanced between technical authoring & bespoke reporting alongside reactive operational troubleshooting including providing a point of escalation for support engineers. I coordinate change and patch management, own hardware support cases and monitor software subscriptions & licensing.NOTE: My role and customer’s transition to IBM Cloud Managed Application Services in September 2017.Key Achievements• Migration of existing client environments to new 'Virtual Private Cloudspace' product within Verizon.• Upgrade of entire client physical Red Hat operating systems & Oracle database estate in 2015-16.• Built close relationships with diverse offshore teams in India & Czech Republic bringing more effective support to the client.Responsibilities• Working alongside the 24x7 technical operations teams in the United States, India & Europe to maintain excellent service levels to clients.• Being the resident expert on client specific architecture through knowledge building and maintaining accurate and detailed procedural documentation required for the successful support of the environments.• Patch planning, implementation and migration as appropriate.• Weekly & monthly bespoke reporting as per contract.

Delivering and integrating managed customer solutions into data centres in UK & Netherlands. Dealing day to day with VMware & linux whilst working side by side with network and firewall specialists. In addition the team install and configure components for internal infrastructure projects across the business.Key Achievements• Delivery & integration: Source UK Ltd, a fully managed customer in the UK across two data centres. Components delivered by our team include VMware VSphere with multiple RHEL systems, Oracle RAC clusters on physical RHEL, dedicated load balancers, firewalls and switches.• Delivery & integration: HTK Ltd, a fully managed customer in UK across two data centres.
