UK Electrical Drivetrain (EDT) R+D Graduate Scheme.This is made up of placements at various locations to gain wide ranging exposure to different areas of electrical drivetrain R+D within the company.I have been involved in projects related to generator control design and validation. I was involved in the continued development of an RF emission detector as well as troubleshooting and debugging Inverter interface boards through the use of an automated test harness partly developed by myself using MATLAB.I have also gained experience in hardware design using the PCB design package Altium. I was responsible for taking a product from the design stage right through to manufacture whilst liaising with stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation throughout the process.I am currently the chairman of the Siemens Gamesa Young Innovators Forum. This is a setup in which company relevant technical topics are presented on a monthly basis at a level designed to be understandable to junior engineers. The main aim of the forum is to foster collaboration and spark ideas in junior engineers across a wide variety of teams.

Whilst working here I completed my final year MEng project within the electrical drivetrain (EDT) R+D department of the company. This involved designing a high speed PCB capable of detecting RF emissions produced during abnormal switching events within offshore wind power converters.I also had the opportunity to travel to Brande, Denmark to develop my understanding of other areas of R+D within the business such as loads and control.

Various roles as a customer assistant, mainly in the fruit and veg department.

Assistant to farm owner looking after an 80,000 acre farm in South West Queensland. At times I was solely responsible for looking after the property home to 2500 cattle and 5000 sheep. This formed the main part of my gap year. Towards the end of my time there i was also responsible for training up other employees to an acceptable standard so that they could run the farm unassisted when needed. I believe my time here has developed me as an individual and allowed me to improve my organisational and leadership skills. I believe this will be beneficial to me for any future management role.
