My entire working career was spent analyzing and solving business problems.

My first job after college was as a systems analyst/programmer.

After several years of designing and programming computer systems, I got into consulting and spent 25 years consulting with primarily Fortune 500 companies. I have worked for IBM, NCR, State Farm, R.R. Donnelley, FMC, United Technologies, Cummins, GM, State of Indiana, IvyTech, Bank One, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Fifth Third Bank and many others.

After taking early retirement from Corporate America, it sickened me to see all of the small business failures due to the horrible economy of the last few years. But what really sickened me was realizing I could have helped save many of them.

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy so I decide to utilize my vast experience and expertise to help as many as I could.

• Provided systems support for the online credit/debit authorization system.• Provided database administration for the online credit/debit authorization system.• Provided 24/7 on-call support.• Environment: Z/OS, ROSCOE, TSO/SPF, Panvalet, Assembler, VSAM, Xpeditor, JCL, MS Word, MS Excel.Fifth Third is the fourth largest merchant transaction processor in the country. The online credit/debit authorization system processed on average 25 million transactions per day. The database system was an inhouse developed system utilizing VSAM files. The online credit/debit authorization system was an inhouse developed system written entirely in assembler.

Experience:• Developed new claims systems for South Carolina Blue Cross/Blue Shield.• Redesign of State Farm online life insurance system and conversion from Assembler to COBOL/DB2.• Year 2000 conversion of Indiana Farm Bureau life, auto and casualty insurance. • Implemented SCT HRS and SIS online packages for Ivy Tech State. • Implemented Arthur Andersen Distribution Control System (DCS) for Thomson Consumer Electronics. • Designed and implemented an online manufacturing information and control system for FMC. • Designed and coded online manufacturing information and control system for United Technologies.
