I took the lead in transforming transactions and processes across six integrated businesses within the new BBP Division, simultaneously optimising returns through cost-effective strategic sourcing. I held divisional responsibility for procurement, catalogue oversight, and supplier database management, whilst being an active contributor to the Corporate Procurement Team. I carefully assembled a new team of adept professionals, successfully merging group and site procurement functions into a cohesive national unit. My role extended to formulating the Group Procurement Strategy, outlining comprehensive plans for future benefits, resource allocation, and process enhancements. Notably, I designed and executed robust procurement reporting capabilities, setting a high benchmark for quality and depth. By unifying independently operating procurement teams at a national scale, I ensured effective governance, innovative roles, detailed position descriptions, and impactful KPIs. Immediately spearheaded the development of a countrywide model to consolidate independent regional activities across 43 distribution centres. Newly standardised protocols set benchmarks for reform through the Step Change Program that served to trim bloated infrastructure, and achieve a dramatic $6 million reduction in cost base.
