Senior Planner - Duties include: • Electronic planning and exporting of newspapers’ pages using a bespoke software system• Creating sufficient space for editorial news, whilst satisfying advertisers’ space requests• Planning the papers using the smallest pagination possible and the best suited colour configurations to avoid unnecessary printing costs and maximise profits• Problem solving• Liaising with editors, sub-editors, sales managers, production staff, printers and managing directors• General in-house document maintenance• I work closely with a team of planners and our Group Admin Department• Controlling paginations• Ensuring each title has enough revenue and editorial which involves a lot of diplomacy including negotiating with both Sales Managers and Editors for 13 weekly titles, 1 daily and 6 magazine• Ensuring Industry standards are adhered to• Trouble Shooting• Ensuring all deadlines are met• Damage control & limitation• Investigating errors and implementing procedures
