Teaching & developing undergraduate physics courses at the U of T Scarborough campus in the Dept. of Physical and Environmental Sciences.I've recently established the UTSC Atmospheric Observatory, which involves collaborations with other U of T faculty members and Environment Canada research scientists.Current projects: - modernization of physics teaching laboratories - developing atmospheric physics course - air quality measurements at UTSC - improving pedagogy in undergraduate physics education - teaching first year physics for life sciences: PHYA11, PHYA22 - designed and teaching physics lab courses: PHYB10, PHYC11 - created new course: PHYC14: introduction to atmospheric physics

• Operated and maintained high resolution Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) instrument at the Polar Environment Atmospheric Research Lab (PEARL).• Conducted instrument validation studies between FTIR and several other instrument datasets (e.g. radiosondes, satellite measurements)• Contributed data analysis to research reports, posters and publications• Presented research at several national and international meetings and workshops

• Design and deliver lectures and training sessions on pedagogy and public speaking for new graduate students (2014 - 2017)• Deliver weekly training sessions to prepare a team of over 60 graduate student TAs to run problem solving and lab activities for a large first year undergraduate physics course (PHY131, fall 2016)

Operated and maintained instruments at the Toronto Atmospheric Observatory (TAO).Took daily measurements of pollutants and greenhouse gases using the TAO Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer.Analyzed satellite data using MATLAB for use in research, conference presentations and reports.Researched and help implement plans for building a new TAO suntracking instrument.Trained new research assistants and summer students to operate and maintain TAO facility.Assisted planning for VIP and school visits to laboratory facilities.

• Researched curriculum content using book, academic journal and web-based sources.• Wrote textbook chapters and accompanying student evaluation documents to meet rigorous standards for quality and student accessibility.

• Taught grade 6-12 ESL/ELL students math, science and social science in one-on-one and group classroom sessions as part of intense and comprehensive after-school program. • Collaboratively developed student-specific teaching strategies with English teachers and a counselor to address language, attitude and capability-based learning challenges.• Wrote weekly student analysis and evaluations, marked assignments and created solution sets for assigned homework.
