As Provost, I gave leadership to a variety of the college's operational departments, including Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Finance, Human Resources, IT, and others. In February of 2017 I was honored to receive the H.G. Faulkner Distinguished Business Officer of the Year award from the Association of Business Administrators of Christian Colleges (ABACC), recognizing my work to help the college successfully navigate a series of significant and rapid change initiatives. My primary focus was to support the growth of individual students and the institution through excellence in academic and student affairs.

I joined Pillar College as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer in May of 2012 to provide leadership for the departments of Finance, Student Financial Services, Human Resources, and Information Technology. I came to Pillar College at a time of rapid and significant institutional change and growth. In the last four years, I have assisted our President, faculty and staff as the college achieved independence from its founding church denomination, changed its name, moved its headquarters and primary campus, achieved ten-year regional and national reaccreditation, and established a new branch campus. In the fall of 2014 the Board of Trustees approved my promotion to the role of Provost, at which time I also assumed responsibility for Academic and Student Affairs.

I founded InVine Solutions in February of 2010 to provide strategic management and IT consulting services. I have:Led the successful design and delivery of an online training system, helping to create and deliver training for a hospital’s 3,000 employees and stakeholders during a major upgrade to its electronic health record systemGave a university president confidence and data for decision-making by providing an objective assessment of the ability of the university’s Student Information System to support the institution's rapid growth and unique business requirementsBoosted a retailer’s online sales by planning and launching a new eCommerce platformHelped an educational technology firm assess market opportunities and revise its strategic plans for greater market penetrationPlanned and managed a Microsoft Exchange upgrade project for a major university

Impression Mobile was later merged with another business unit to create VNImedia, where I provided Program Management for the company’s Digital Signage, IPTV, and Web Video Portal products, and developed and managed strategic relationships comprising 80% of VNImedia’s revenues.

I developed the business, marketing, and product plans for the company’s Impression Mobile unit, hired its staff, and developed and implemented its first Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) offering. This included the successful negotiation of rebroadcast rights for Indianapolis-based over-the-air stations as well as carriage rights for several cable network channels.

Co-founded LAT in 2000 with two partners and built the custom software development and IT services company to over $2M in revenue in 2006, before selling in the fall of 2008 to Veriana Networks, Inc. I developed the company’s vision, strategic plans, and core values, hired and managed its employees, and established its operating procedures. As the hospital’s CIO, I was responsible for the Information Technology, Telecommunications, and Medical Records departments. In this role, I participated as a member of the health system’s senior administrative council. During my term at Howard (a Meditech hospital), I restructured the department and updated its operating practices to enable greater efficiency and improved customer service. I recruited new leaders for the Information Systems and Medical Records departments, and performed a hospital-wide IT assessment to better meet the needs of the organization. I provided executive oversight for the successful implementation of new systems and upgrades.

As the CIO equivalent at MGH, I developed the long range strategic plan for information technology supporting the organization’s vision for expansion as an integrated delivery system. I was responsible for the budgeting and management of all hospital Information Systems resources and helped MGH achieve distinction as one of the nation’s “most wired” health care facilities. I elevated the department to a more strategic role in the organization as we implemented the hospital’s first systems in clinical departments and integrated physician practices. I reduced the department’s operating costs by eliminating many outdated report generation and distribution practices while creating new operational processes and organizational structures. I improved customer service by launching the hospital’s first IT Help Desk, and created an IT strategic plan.

In this position I assisted the hospital’s clinical departments through systems selection, implementation, administration and maintenance processes. This was my first full time position in Information Systems, and during these years I learned the fundamentals of project management, systems analysis and administration, and vendor relationship management.
