pRED Informatics is a pRED (Pharma Research & Early Development) Function of Roche. It provides scientific informatics and information services, systems and content to support pRED’s innovative discovery and early development activities. pREDi aims to deliver an integrated scientific information environment that enables maximum value generation from internal and external data, derivation of knowledge and prediction of outcomes - supporting pRED’s mission. ● Develop, maintain and drive the collaboration with discovery and pre-clinical research labs of pRED Discovery and Translational Areas (DTAs), and specifically develop a full understanding of underlying research processes. ● Establish and maintain effective partnerships with scientists, internal IT specialists and QA representatives. ● Analyze scientific workflows and effectively collect user requirements with scientists. ● Implement and maintain workflows in LIMS, ELN frameworks (DBS E-WorkBook/BioBook, ActivityBase). ● Provide training, guidance and data management support to scientists to increase effective usage of existing workflow systems.

Roche's Neuroscience Disease and Translational Area in the pRED, oversees the discovery, research and development of novel treatments for diseases such as schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s disease. The Roche portfolio has 10 novel compounds in development for disorders of the central nervous system, including schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis and other serious conditions. The most advanced of these are investigational medicines in phase III clinical testing for schizophrenia and multiple sclerosis, in addition to several compounds in earlier stages of development as potential treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. ● Implementation of preclinical imaging technique (resting-state functional MRI) for the identification of novel biomarkers to support CNS drug discovery projects. ● Creation of SOPs, designing of experimental paradigms and protocols, guidance of a team of research associates. ● Preprocessing, and analysis (GLM, correlation, ICA, PCA, graph theory, Entropy, wavelets, ALFF, fALFF etc.) of imaging data to quantify brain connectivity information using various software libraries (FSL, SPM etc.). ● Development of scripts (Matlab, Unix etc.) and analytical strategies to automate data processing. ● Project management, academic collaboration, scientific communication at international conferences, and in scientific journals.
