As an Appalachian, I recognize both the need to support local business and to protect the beauty and heritage of the region I love. My studies in both marketing and fashion merchandising have allowed me the freedom to explore both creative and analytical means of expression and given me the skills necessary to find my place in professional world. I have been given the immense opportunity to begin my journey through my time in marketing and design assistance at Tanner's Alley Leather Design Studio. My additional experience as an intern with the Central Appalachia Fibershed has shown me the importance of the localized textile industry, where I plan to continue my work towards a brighter future for Appalachia.
