Employed primarily as a quad and 3/4" editor but after a couple of years began to produce and direct music videos. Anybody remember Peaches and Herb?? Used to be the only game in town, until uncertain management caused company to go out of business. Had 2 large studios and multiple edit rooms. Did not keep up with the competition, but staffed by a great bunch of TV people. RIP

Spanish Speaking Independent UHF owned by Columbia Pictures located in Newark NJ, transmitter located atop the Empire State Building in NYC but studios located in Newark NJ. / No, I don't speak Spanish. Worked with a great bunch of people and learned a lot of skills. Learned how to shoot 35MM film and directed commercials on a freelance basis.

Started working for station when it became an ABC affiliate and needed a News department. I was hired as a news film shooter and later the News Director. Finally Traffic manager when the station briefly fell on hard times. Just 3 of us (including my brother David Silver) kept the station on the air until things turned around. A real learning experience.!!

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

Established a News Department when WRDU became a NBC affiliate. Designed format, designed and built sets and hired staff. Left over a dispute with Board of Directors.

Ft. Myers Florida

First job in television as a gofer, studio grunt, 6am to 10 am. Quickly went full time and learned the business by working many, many hours on my own time.

SAC Hqrs Omaha Nebraska. 544th ARTW Top Secret clearance (with code word) evaluating/processing air recon material. Unit was given Presidential Unit Citation Award for work during the Cuban Missile Crisis, By President John F. Kennedy. I was one of many who met the President on the Offutt AFB flight line.
