I want your engagement with me and learning French in our classroom to be the bright spot in your day! As an experienced French Instructor, I have grown over many years from teaching in the face to face classroom to fully teaching online, providing a very caring, safe, active, and rigorous learning experience in which students can enjoy learning about the beautiful French language and cultures. My appealing online classroom environment invites a variety of academic and personal growth opportunities while fostering healthy relationships within our classroom setting. I emphasize the communicative approach to language learning while simultaneously incorporating grammar instructions, engaging students in speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities. My students receive timely, positive, personal, constructive feedback from me regularly, to empower them continuously improve and develop a grown mindset approach to learning.I stay at the forefront of education incorporating Open Educational Resources (OERs), a never-ending plethora of technology tools, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) competencies while always improving my French language skills and Cultural competencies. I believe in developing a warm, safe, caring, and respectful environment that fosters a growth mindset for all students, making it accessible and appreciative of diverse cultures. Students can take these skills on to further educational, professional, community, and personal endeavors.Learning French has opened doors for me and expanded my horizons beyond what I had imagined, allowing me to form life-long friendships, travel opportunities (including providing student travel), as well as career and personal opportunities.
