see experience below.I am very good with 'novel' solutions and able to view the whole problem ( including the percieved problem) I treat these as challanges and create solutions.I have been dabbling in electronics since I was 8 and started my own electronics hardware design business when I was 17. My company did consultancy, design, manufacturing, testing and repairs on all sorts of electronics from home computer interfaces, to high speed digital networking to medical equipment.RF,analogue and digital.I am a radio amateur operator(since 1981) and design radio equipment and antennas.I have been designing recently quite a few things with Arduino processors and Raspberry PI SBCs.I combine my electronics with my other great hobby, 3d-printing to create mechatronic models. Some of which I have done for large companies.Though... most people would say that I am not really a specialist, more of a problem solver - with an insight into the best way to solve a problem. Quick, practical and workable solutions to complex problems are my real speciality.Since October 2014 I am a member of the Thales Hengelo Works council (ondernemingsraad)A 3 year voluntary position which gets me involved in all aspects of the company. It is a great learning experience.I was re-elected to the Works council in 2017 for a further 3 years and again in 2020 for a further 3 years. In Thales, I've held the position of Technical Writer for the past 12 years, however for the last 3 years I have been applying my talents to the areas of AR, VR and Video for documentation. I've developed a fast and efficient form of creating video for maintenance procedures and designed tools to support the process, Over the past 2 years this has matured from an idea (from Jeroen van er Wel) to a mature pre-production process which we are now starting to embed in the organization,

I am developing new technology for documentation and knowledge capture using video I used to write technical maintenance and service manuals for Thales in S1000D.I am also the XSLT guru for the department - responsible for the PDF/HTML production layout and bug fixing in the XSLT templates we use in our production environment.I've just completed XSLTs to automatically generate all the front matter of all the Binders in a documentation set - in 20 mins instead of hours and hours per binder.I am also a member of the content/structure expert group in Thales.I am the pioneer of using Scenario based Documentation in TNL for our online user software manuals for our Combat Management System software for Maritime Security Operations. I designed the methodology, and practical implementation of using S1000D XML with DITA methodology to allow creation of the content in conjunction with the bi-weekly SCRUM software development teams. On June 25th 2013 I presented a talk at the Congility S1000D conference in Gatwick UK. This includes embedded context sensitive information, User scenarios online as an instructional aide, Installation videos for the customer...as well as developing the internal processes, procedures and tooling for improving the way in which Thales uses S1000D. I am involved in a number of internal workgroups and I am one of the XSLT gurus in the department.

I was elected from the employees of Thales Hengelo to represent them in the Works council. Along with 15 colleagues we form the Work's Council of Thales Hengelo and spar with the Management over issues concerning the workforce and the business. My main task in the group is lead for the Public Relations (PR) team, but I am also a member of 3 other sub-committees who meet on a regular basis with department managers and discuss issues with them. This is possibly one of the most rewarding jobs I have and the interaction with so many people is terrific to experience. I also get to learn a lot about how the company operates, which I find fascinating.
