About Daria Siegel Kempka
As Director of UX at LogicMonitor, I lead a dynamic global team of designers and researchers who are on a mission to deliver the best, most useful, most usable observability platform in the world. Before this role, I led digital strategy at Marquette University where I drove digital branding and marketing initiatives and oversaw the people, the processes, and the technology that powered them. I’ve brought human-centered design to every role I’ve held, whether designing, developing, producing or leading because the work has to work for the people it’s meant for. My super power is getting cross-functional teams together to solve messy problems in new spaces — I’m deeply into UX for AI (and AI for UX) right now.
Listed skills include Design, Mobile, Web, User Experience, and 7 others.

Interim Director, Design
Sr. Ux Manager
Director Of Digital Strategy
Led and drove design, strategy, marketing technology, and digital branding initiatives at Marquette. Managed a crew of designers and front-end devs, projects with brand and digital agencies, a program for interns and guided the work of nearly 600 web content managers across the university.Created a vision, strategy and path for improving the user experience for public audiences on marquette.edu in collaboration with my team and stakeholders across the university. Socialized the vision and secured backing from ELT for 2 key initiatives: to launch an intranet for internal content and create new policies establishing brand, accessibility, and quality standards for public content. With partners in ITS, researched, purchased, and launched Marquette's first web CMS and rolled it out to nearly 600 content managers. I invented a program called Jumpstart that reduced wait times to migrate into the CMS from 5 years to 2 weeks by creating an opt-in guided workshop to lead the partners through the process.Figured out how to attribute ad spend to applications by researching solutions and then hired a consultant to help us launch Google Tag Manager to instrument our campaigns, our landing pages and our admissions CRM. (With guidance from the consultant, I actually set everything up & designed and coded the initial POCs to show stakeholders how it would work.) Also connected GTM to our Advancement CMS to track ROI on their ad campaigns. Before learning about GTM we had no way to attribute our ad spend or really understand how effective our campaigns were.
Digital Marketing Manager
Lead digital media strategy and production for the Office of Marketing and Communication at Marquette University.
Web Producer
I develop and implement interactive strategy and initiatives for the Office of Marketing and Communication at Marquette University, focusing mostly on mobile and marketing for undergraduate admissions. I design, develop and maintain websites, interactive content and other forms of digital media including smart phone apps, mobile websites, tablet magazines and on-demand webcasts of major university events. I planned, designed, and produced Marquette's first iOS apps including a tablet magazine, led the design and production of Marquette's first mobile-friendly website, first mobile-friendly student intranet, and researched and advocated a responsive approach as part of a global website redesign project for the university.
Adjunct Faculty
I taught a senior digital journalism course at Marquette University. Collaborating with working journalists and editors, students created interactive stories on a current topic. In 2014, students worked with Lillian Thomas, O'Brien fellow and assistant managing editor of special projects at The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and Sharon McGowan, editor-in-chief of the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service, to create a multimedia feature that was published in May on the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service site.
Web Producer

Managed paid search advertising on Google and Yahoo, and other partner sites using a budget that was over $100k in 2007/8.
Senior Designer/Producer, Corporate Technical Trainer, Web Developer
Gathered requirements, developed quotes and proposals, helped pitch projects for major clients. Designed and developed static and dynamic websites. Developed design specifications, storyboards, creative briefs and other related project management documentation and process.Taught pro-level courses in Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Quark XPress. Provided consulting services and customized training on site and at client locations. Solid track record of positive feedback from clients, students, and supervisor.
Web Designer / Developer
Designed and developed websites, Flash front-end interfaces for training materials, web applications and training materials.Worked offsite at Johnson Controls to build an intranet for their marketing department.
Intern Coordinator / Graphic Designer
Helped with selecting, interviewing, and recruiting interns. Coordinated schedules, projects, and courses for Interns at Think. Helped with design and development of web sites, presentations, print materials. Took advantage of opportunity to take Macromedia Certified courses in Dreamweaver, Flash, Actionscript, and Director. Worked hard and learned a ton. This is where I got my start as a web and internet professional.
Bike Messenger
It was a little like that movie Quicksilver. Except that I'm not Kevin Bacon and I was working in San Francisco, not New York. I rode my bike. I met great people. And I delivered all the things!
