About Darragh O'Connell

Darragh O'Connell co-founded Brown Bag Films in 1994 which has grown to become one of Europe's leading animation studios. He was nominated for an Academy Award® in 2002 for his work on the short film 'Give up Yer Aul Sins'. He subsequently directed the TV series which went on to become one of the best selling Irish DVD releases of all time. Over the years Darragh has directed hundreds of TV commercials as well as all 52 episodes of 'I'm an Animal', which has sold to more than 110 countries. In 2006 he supervised and directed the animation for the Oasis music video, 'Masterplan'. In 2009 directed 'Olivia' for Chorion/ Nickelodeon US. He is currently directing 'The Octonauts' for Chorion/BBC and a new short film entitled '23 degrees 5 minutes'. This year, he was nominated for a second Academy award for his work on the short film 'Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty'.
