I practise business law with a focus on franchising, distribution, leasing and construction, particularly in the hospitality and retail sectors. I am ranked in Lexpert, Chambers, Best Lawyers in Canada and Who's Who Legal: Canada, for franchising. I am a member of the board of the Canadian Franchise Association and Chair of its Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee. I am Vice Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Franchise Law Executive. I am a frequent author and speaker on franchise issues.

I held a number of executive positions at Cara Operations Limited (now Recipe Unlimited), one of Canada's largest restaurant and foodservice companies, where, during my tenure there, I led the Legal, Franchising, Real Estate Development, Construction and Design Departments. Cara is the operator and franchisor of iconic Canadian brands Swiss Chalet, Montana’s, Kelsey’s, Harvey’s, Milestones, and formerly, Second Cup, and was a multi-unit franchisee of several national brands including Tim Hortons and Outback Steakhouse.
