Since returning to Leeds at the end of 2009 I have worked at the Sainsbury’s Depot in Sherburn-in-Elmet as the Systems Manager. Being solely responsible for all IT support on site I have an extremely wide range of duties including the following:• Managing a team of 4 people who run the watchroom and organize returns and repairs• Managing 2 server rooms and 16 LAN zones across the site• Looking after all PCs on site, including diagnosing problems, fixing issues and rebuilding when necessary• Managing the sites LAN which includes 2 separate networks, 2 main comms rooms and over 20 LAN ‘zones’• Managing and maintaining all equipment used in the warehouse including watches used by pickers, screens used on reach trucks, screens for pickers to monitor their progress etc.• Assisting users in the creation of Excel spreadsheets, and macros• Managing all RF equipment on site• Managing and maintaining all printers on site and arranging engineer visits • Coordinating outages for site upgrades/fixes• Carry out network patching for office moves

Worked at Sainsbury’s Head Office for 10 years I gained a wealth of experience not only in development and support, but also gained much experience in the food retail industry from Supply Chain to marketing. Below are some of my key roles and projects: Promotional Advertising – Senior Analyst Programmer/Support• As the system sat on multiple platforms developed solutions using a number of technologies including ASP, Unix, Oracle, HTML, SQL among others• Building, fixing and maintaining test server rigs.• Provided development solutions and support for central users and over 800 stores across the UK for both the systems web front end and print servers.• Worked very closely with various areas of the business including Trading, Marketing and Retail to understand business processes to determine and drive IT strategy inline with short and long term business objectives.• Carried out regular store visits to ensure systems were meeting user requirements.• Delivery of complex projects on time and within budget.• Provided effective management of 24/7 support and project delivery.• Successful management of projects from conception to implementation.• Carried out operational and functional testing of all aspects of the system prior to go live.• Rolled out application across the Sainsbury’s estate including manual client interface installs on central machines and assisting with the packaging of application to roll out to store servers.• Managed, developed, tested and rolled out maintenance releases and user change requests

Worked both in house and as an external contractor for almost 2 years on some of the following projects:One Stop Solutions (Aldershot, UK) – Web Developer• Armed with only a light brief worked as sole developer to build a research website from scratch using Lotus Notes Domino and HTML. • Delivered system successfully under extremely tight timelines and within budget.• Developed all HTML required and sourced and altered artwork required for site.• Developed a Lotus Notes database backend as the website was to be primarily used for research and development.• Created templates to allow end users to easily add content on their own.
