In retirement, I am developing a self-sufficient lifestyle.We began with an old 1840s farmhouse and a couple of acres of cleared land with no outbuildings. We have added extra land and built a storage shed, wood shed, chicken coop, and a small barn.- We have a vegetable garden from which we produce and preserve an increasing amount of the produce we consume each year.- We have many apple trees which provide us with applesauce, cider, and apple butter, plus the apples for many pies.- Our peach trees should be producing in about 2-3 years, provided nothing goes askew in the meantime.- We raise free ranging, pastured chickens for meat and eggs.- We raise rabbits for meat.- We forage for and harvest blackberries and blueberries; freezing many quarts of the blackberries and blueberries, and canning many quarts of blackberry juice each year. We also make blackberry jelly.- May at some point raise grass fed pigs, beef and/or goats. That will be at least another year or two away.- As we are in a heavily wooded, rural and remote part of Maine, hunting, fishing, and foraging play an important part in our lifestyle.

Responsible for the sale and support of PSTN and VoIP call generation equipment and portable test equipment throughout an expansive region extending from New England to Colorado. - In this role I worked closely with Cisco in both a sales and technical support role. My efforts resulted in Ameritec becoming standardized and written into the test plan as the vendor of choice for the cable group. - Initiated first time Fortissimo penetration into key accounts such as Pannaway, Motorola's WiMax group, Sprint, Arris, Calix, and Sonus.

Served as the subject matter expert for the Abacus voice test product line, with an emphasis on VoIP. Increased market awareness and penetration. Created and presented technical presentations, and provided on-site technical support and training for product evaluations and installations. - Developed a relationship with Motorola that resulted in over $1.5M in sales over an 18 month period. - Achieved 133% of quota and President's Club for 2004.

Responsible for developing sales of portable SONET test equipment throughout the mid-Atlantic and New England states along with all of Canada. In this role I established and developed the sales and distribution channel in Canada. I developed initial sales to Nortel Canada, Newbridge Networks, Saskatchewan Tel, Telus, Bell Atantic, and Lucent, among others. Was one of top 3 salespeople in 1997.

Was responsible for developing the sales channel along with direct sales throughout New England and upstate and western New York. Vied for the title of Salesman of the Year, losing out by a nose in the last week of 1995. Achieved 140% of quota and was awarded "Rookie of the Year".

Led the sales and marketing efforts of this portable equipment manufacturer. This included a direct sales force along with a sales channel. Supervisory responsibility included product management, technical documentation, inside sales, tech support, and order administration. Effectively positioned the company image, leading to a successful acquisition. Increased sales by 50% in the final 4 months of 1994.
