Kids Against Hunger - Fox Valley packages nutritious dry food for hungry people of this area and starving people of Nicaragua. It is a packaging satellite of Kids Against Hunger of Freedom Foods, Omaha, NE.KAH-FV raises funds and recruits volunteers to package a mix of processed soy, rice, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring with 21 vitamins and minerals, all sealed in a plastic bag with a minimum of three year shelf life. Each package when cooked in six to ten cups of boiling water provides six helpings of tasty food, each of which provides all vitamins and minerals required for healthy life for one day. For many in Nicaragua this is the only thing they have to eat for that one day but it keeps them alive and healthy.Each meal is prepared for a quarter including costs for ingredients, packaging expenses and shipment to Nicaragua. Boxes of 216 meals only cost $54 each, or $1800 for a pallet of 33 boxes.

Darrel Malcom remains in good health and is active in small group leadership, visitation, teaching, occasionally preaching, funerals, weddings and other pastoral duties on a part time basis. Wife, Karen, also remains active in church projects, including frequent service in the nursery.
