To provide, develop and deliver Trauma Care and First Aid training to meet the Service Policy. To ensure that the statutory and operational requirements for Trauma Care is met. To assess Trauma Care and First Aid standards and to provide appropriate feedback to develop skills throughout the service to enhance a safe working environment. To provide expert knowledge, advice and support to others within the Service OR to external parties regarding the Service and to ensure the provision of Specialist services in line with Service needs. Train and refresh staff in Trauma Care to agreed standards within service policies, providing assessment, feedback and development. To represent the department/function at meetings and act as Service representative for initiatives as required. Liaise with agreed medical professionals to provide medical oversight of service provision in line with service policy. Advise service managers on changes to national Trauma Care guidance. Produce lessons and training to meet service requirements in line with service policy. Represent the service/department at external and internal meetings involving other departments, services, agencies and external providers. Keep accurate records of training and development using provided systems to the required standards. Maintain Continued Professional Development in subject matter areas as directed by organisational requirements. Analyse service casualty data to make recommendations for future training and equipment provision.

Provide high quality emergency care and minor injury treatment to patients with both primary care and acute care needs in a Police Custody setting. An active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care. Also provide care for the physical and mental health needs of offenders in line with professional, contractual and company requirements. Function autonomously and within your sphere of competency, whilst being a support and resource to less experienced members of staff. Assess patients, plan their care, administer treatment and discharge them or refer them as appropriate to other healthcare professionals / external agencies.
