The Detroit Filmmaker Awards is an event that celebrates and recognizes the diversity and talent of independent filmmakers in our community. We are proud to showcase the unique stories and perspectives that Detroit has to offer, and to be a part of the growing independent film community in our city. The event is a celebration of the hard work and creativity of our local filmmakers, and we are thrilled to be able to provide them with a platform to showcase their talents.

Ensure receipt and coordination of final screening copies of all films selected for the festival. The Print Traffic Coordinator will maintain a database of selected films and artists and distributor contacts, liaise directly with filmmakers and distributors, tracking screening copies, and attend screen-tests of all films.* Maintain print tracking database and continual reporting of print status*Track shipping and receiving of all films and videos, including theater assignment and post-festival destination*Quality control to ensure film data is accurate*Timely delivery to and pick up from festival venues*Maintain shipping costs within festival budget

• Produced,directed and edited feature films, commercials, reality television show pilots, online web series, and more than 200 music videos featured on VH1, MTV, TV One, and Centric by managing budgets to hire staff including line producers, cast, and sound and stage crews to help clients reach their visual content goals• Won multiple film awards including Best Director at the 2014 Trinity Film Festival; Best Film at the 2014 Black Film Festival; Official Selection at the 2009 Cinema Sports 24 Hour Film Festival; & Official Selection of the 2006 Pan African Film Festival; Texas black film festival • Oversee organizational operations by managing five employees including Human Resources professionals, administrative assistant, and line producers while collaborating with partners and vendors to reach goals and objectives and to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders • Maintain relationships with executives of cable television networks such as Spike TV, Oxygen, Revolt, and BET to promote services, sell media content, and purchase air-time, resulting in commercials aired on ESPN and TV One• Directed the Jeep Compass commercial in 2010 as one of three Directors selected to direct the project, and collaborated with the band, Taddy Porter, to partner with Jeep’s Music To Drive To campaign, seen by national audience.

• Reviewed creative content with creative executives to ensure it aligns with organizational goals and brand while supervising editing process and/or revisions made by outside agencies to prepare materials for final presentations • Lead team of creative professionals to develop creative guidelines, direct their creative work including advertising and new shows, by evaluating and approving piloted shows to be aired using professional judgement and strong knowledge of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts to execute projects.
